Impact Range

Camp Grayling JMTC is the largest National Guard training center in the country, encompassing 147,000 acres. It supports a wide cross-section of military personnel, including active-duty and National Guard forces. It provides a large ground training area, an air-to-ground range, and a large airspace all in the same complex. Nonmilitary organizations as well as international partners also use the ranges and other facilities there.

The Camp Grayling Community Council is made up of representatives from the military, state agencies, local units of governments, and citizen groups. Click here for a list of current CGCC members.

Purpose of the Camp Grayling Community Council (CGCC)

~Enhanced and effective communication between Camp Grayling and the Communities and organizations that are in the Area of Influence, as defined by the JLUS.

~To hear and understand issues presented by Community, Organization or Military. Resolution/mitigation of issues to the best of each party’s ability.

~Identify Priorities of projects as outlined in the JLUS Study.

~Assist with Implementation of projects funded from the JLUS.

~Enhance economic opportunities.

~Protect and enhance surface and groundwater quality. Collaboration on fire protection, public safety and EMS.Enhance infrastructure, including broadband to meet the needs of the Community and Camp Grayling.
